Sound Reduction Systems Ltd (SRS) manufacture a range of proprietary acoustic vertical cavity barriers to reduce noise transfer between rooms.  Quite often in commercial, educational, and industrial environments rooms are separated by partitioning that goes up to the underside of a lightweight, lay-in type suspended ceiling - giving a common ceiling void above.  This usually leads to very poor speech privacy between rooms, and can be a big problem, leading to issues of confidentiality and disturbance.  SRS offer a range of acoustic vertical cavity barrier products, details of which can be accessed below.  Should it not be possible to acoustically treat the void using a barrier, perhaps due to its large depth, because the ceiling void contains services, or because the void is being used for air movement, then we would recommend the use of our Soundblocker system.
