The 7th Warrington West Scout group provides an incredible resource for the children in their area. They have both indoor and outdoor activities offering their members many different experiences along with the opportunity to grow and widen their knowledge of the world.
However, it was with indoor activities at their Headquarters in Great Sankey that they found there was a problem. Excessive reverberation and echo was being generated from the hard, reflective surfaces within the hall and creating problems with noise and speech intelligibility, particularly for their children with hearing difficulties.
Chris Degenhart, Scout Leader at 7th Warrington West, contacted Sound Reduction Systems (SRS) via their online form to see if they were able to help. SRS sent Alex Docherty to site to measure up in detail and gather all of the information they would need to provide a specification to solve the absorption issues along with a quotation for the work. Alex commented:
“As soon as you walked into the hall you could tell there was a noise issue and that this would only be exacerbated with the introduction of many children. Although it was clear the Sonata Aurio absorbers would be perfect for this project, we did need to give some consideration to the layout and fitting due to the unique ceiling arrangement.”
After providing an acoustic report demonstrating before and after treatment a layout design and testimonials from similar projects, SRS were instructed to proceed with the treatment, using their decorative Sonata Aurio Class A rated absorbers – the scout group chose a colour scheme of Teal, Indigo and Paw Paw to reflect the colours on their neckerchiefs.
Following the installation, Chris commented:
“Working with Sound Reduction Systems was great – our very noisy Scout hut was getting to a point where it was a real struggle to hold meetings. Since installing the sound adsorption we have had a real ‘quality of life’ improvement – particularly with some of our young people that struggle with audio and hearing issues. The customer service support was fantastic and the installation and end result is perfect.”
Installation of the Sonata Aurio panels was carried out at the customer’s convenience in less than a day by our expert fitter.
