Sound Reduction Systems Ltd (SRS) were recently approached by a stylish restaurant in Soho, London to help solve their acoustic problem.
Vasco and Piero’s Pavilion Restaurant is an elegant, 65 cover restaurant that has been serving quality Italian food for over 40 years. They are proud to count Gordon Brown, Clement Freud, Kirsten Dunst and Ken Livingston amongst their past patrons and regularly serve clients from the media, film and fashion industries that surround the area.
Their main dining space, although elegant and modern, had many harsh, acoustically reflective surfaces within it. This was causing excessive reverberation and echo problems that were compounded when the restaurant was full of diners, all talking at once. Vasco and Piero’s Manager Paul was conscious of this and, keen to improve the dining environment for his customers, contacted SRS for their expert help.
Working with the restaurant to provide the most appropriate solution, SRS Director, Alex Docherty, was able to provide various quotes and layout options until Paul had settled on one that he felt offered the best overall package in terms of performance, cost and aesthetics.
SRS sent their specialist fitter to site within 10 days of order to fit the panels in the morning before a busy lunchtime service was due. After the first service under their new Sonata Vario absorbers, restaurant owner Paul commented:
“WONDERFUL! - We had 60 people for lunch and people asked why the ambience was so quiet. I told them to look up. The work was done early in the morning, outside opening hours, and finished within four hours. Good, clean job yet very effective outcome”
