Shipton Community Centre
The poor acoustics at Shipton Community Hall was causing problems for all of the groups that used the popular local resource, not least the members of the film club, whose enjoyment of their screenings was adversely affected
Upon deciding that something needed to be done, committee member, John Farbrother, decided to contact sound absorption experts Sound Reduction Systems (SRS) and submitted the online form with details from the hall. Once the form has been submitted, SRS will reply within 24Hrs with an acoustic proposal and estimate for the work. If this proves of interest, as was the case with Shipton Community Hall, SRS will then travel to site, free of charge, to take detailed measurements and discuss colour choice and layout. In this case, 32No. 1200 x 1000mm fabric wrapped Sonata Aurio absorbers, bonded evenly across the ceiling, were specified.
As with a lot of community projects, various quotes were required to ensure the best service and value for money was being delivered. Upon reviewing all of the quotes, the committee decided that SRS had provided them with the most comprehensive and competitive package, along with the best service, and awarded the contract accordingly.
SRS sent their skilled installation team to site, and the panels were installed within a day to immediate effect. After a suitable period of time to judge the effectiveness of the Sonata Aurio panels, Mr Farbrother commented:
