I have noisy neighbours adjacent to my property and require some advice on Wall Soundproofing
When soundproofing a wall, it is first necessary to determine what type of construction you have. This will usually either be a timber stud or a masonry block of some description. Secondly, it is important that you understand what type of soundproofing issue that you have, for example, what kinds of sounds can you hear through the wall. Lastly, is the wall in a domestic, commercial or other type of premises?
If you arm yourself with this basic information, then you will stand the best chance of getting accurate soundproofing advice.
Issues when soundproofing walls
Effective soundproofing materials and systems for walls will certainly involve losing some of the room space.
Thankfully, at Sound Reduction Systems Ltd (SRS), we're widely acclaimed for, not only the performance of our soundproofing materials for use on walls, but also their ease of installation and lack of disruption to the existing building. The innovative acoustic building board, Maxiboard, is a perfect replacement for plasterboard on walls when increased sound insulation is required. With over 25 years in the acoustic supply industry, we are capable of sound insulating virtually any type of wall.
Acoustic products for soundproofing walls.
We often recommend Maxiboard for soundproofing both timber stud and masonry walls in all types of properties, as it provides extremely high acoustic performance.
The Maxiboard is often applied to the offending wall on an isolating framework, known as SRS Maxi Resilient Bars, also supplied by SRS. The resilient bars effectively de-couple the Maxiboard from the existing wall construction, creating a ‘floating’ wall. We also supply acoustic mastics and sealants to complete the service.
Benefits of using SRS products to soundproof your wall: -
- Very high acoustic performance
- Extremely durable
- Easily installed
- Minimal loss of room space
- Perfect for most wall types
