How do I soundproof an office? We have offices where confidentiality is important and speech can be heard in adjacent spaces. Do SRS manufacture office soundproofing products?
Offices are busy spaces, many people working in a confined environment, consideration of the acoustics can significantly improve productivity, reduce stress and maximise the potential of the office. Sound Reduction Systems are well placed to guide you to the most effective solution for office soundproofing to maximise privacy and minimise fuss.

Most large open plan offices have large expanses of lay-in grid suspended ceilings, but problems occur when this space is divided up to create individual offices, meeting rooms or printer bays. Sound easily finds its way around partitioning systems to adjacent spaces via the relatively easy route through the common ceiling void. However, Sound Reduction Systems have a range of solutions to solve this, SoundBlocker tiles can simply be installed by almost anyone to greatly enhance the soundproofing of the ceiling, or alternatively SoundStop acoustic curtain can take the line of the partition up through the ceiling void to the soffit. For the ultimate level of soundproofing performance, SoundBar acoustic curtain can achieve high levels of soundproofing required for video conferencing spaces, individual meeting rooms and areas where confidentiality is paramount. Developed over a number of years, all Sound Reduction Systems products have been independently tested and verified, and are complimented by an accompanying range of accessories for lights, ventilation and other services.
Sound Reduction Systems also produce materials to soundproof office walls, such as Maxiboard for walls which can replace traditional plasterboard used in partition construction to enable very high specification walls to be only marginally thicker than standard walls. Maxiboard for walls is a specialist, laminated board designed and tested to deliver exceptional performance.
An often overlooked aspect to noise in offices has nothing to do with the soundproofing, but relates to the quality of the acoustics within the office itself. Offices tend to have lots of acoustically ‘hard’ or reflective surfaces, which leads to lots of reverberation and a progressive increase in background noise. This can make the office harder to work in, especially for people using telephones or video conferencing. Sonata absorbent panels can rectify this by discretely introducing effective absorption to a wall, ceiling or atrium in an attractive and easy to install package. Sonata panels come in a wide palate of colours to perfectly complement the décor of the office.
