Home Soundproofing

Can SRS assist with advice on home Soundproofing?

Soundproofing your home can allow you to live your life without the worry and stress of being disturbed or inadvertently disturbing anyone else. Maybe you are quiet and live next to a noisy young family, or a musician who needs space to practice, effective soundproofing to your home can solve many problems and add value to your home too!  Why move when some soundproofing could be a much easier and cheaper answer?

Sound Reduction Systems have years of experience helping people like you to soundproof their homes without causing too much disruption or losing much space. We have developed a range of products that can successfully upgrade a wall, floor, ceiling or boiler cupboard.

Maxiboard is a very effective material to soundproof walls and ceilings in homes, fixed via resilient bars to create a semi-independent skin to the wall or the ceiling that is both isolated from its supporting structure and also very dense. High performance walls can be achieved with a minimal loss of space (typically around 6cm).

Acoustilay is another favourite way to improve home soundproofing, used as a carpet or timber floor underlay, it offers a fantastic improvement in impact noise and the two heavier versions (Acoustilay 8 and Acoustilay 15) can also significantly reduce airborne noise transmission.
Maxideck is our newest product for soundproofing a floor, a rigid multi-layer board with an isolating layer underneath, it offers the ultimate level of soundproofing to a floor.

Finally, modern high efficiency boilers can be noisier than older central heating systems, Maxiboard or SoundStop can be used to line a boiler cupboard to contain noise and minimise disturbance to the surrounding room. Soundstop is an acoustic curtain made from highly absorbent acoustic foam sandwiched around a dense sheet of lead which can easily be shaped to soundproof a boiler.

If you need any advice or guidance on what will be the most effective way to soundproof your home, please don’t hesitate to contact our technical department for free, friendly advice. Sound Reduction Systems can point you in the right direction for the soundproofing problem you have in your home.
