Fire Performance
The foam core meets the Class O requirements of the building regulations when tested to BS476 Part 6 1981 and Part 7 1987. All standard fabrics used meet the requirements of Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame when tested to BS476: Part 7: 1987 as a minimum. The composite absorbers have not been tested.
Fixing Accessories
Sikaflex 11FC adhesive is recommended for bonding the Sonata Aurio™ absorbers to walls and ceilings. Before application the substrate surface should be checked to be flat, clean and free from dust or grease. The adhesive should be applied as a continuous bead around the rear perimeter of the absorber with a bead of adhesive in a snake pattern in-between. The absorber can then be pushed into place using moderate pressure and should be held for 30 seconds while the adhesive begins to cure. A standard cartridge of 11FC adhesive should be sufficient to cover 3.6m², please consult the Sikaflex 11FC data sheet available from Sonata Acoustics upon request.
Handling, Care and Maintenance
Sonata Aurio™ absorbers are packed in protective recyclable cartons. Sonata Aurio™ absorbers should be stored indoors in the area in which they are to be installed and should be left to acclimatize for 24 hours prior to installation. Cartons of absorbers should never be double stacked and should not be laid on their side to avoid any damage to the absorbers. Extreme care should be taken when handling absorbers to avoid soiling the fabric. The surface of absorbers can be cleaned periodically with a vacuum cleaner but under no circumstances should they be submerged in water or subjected to a high pressure water jet spray. Stains on the fabric covering may be cleaned although we recommend consulting one of our engineers prior to treatment to ensure the correct action is taken.
